Customer Reviews about Walla Walla Eye Center

  • I am very satisfied with my eye care at Walla Walla Eye Center (WWEC). The front office staff seem friendly and helpful. It was a little confusing transferring medical records over to WWEC but it turned to be a non-issue. The back office staff are fun and friendly as well. The optician, Mark Jones, was quite helpful in getting new lenses into my glasses and shipping them to me in Portland. I’ve met Dr. Gunshefski once and she seemed pleasant enough. I don’t have much experience to write anything else about her. I’ve known Dr. Lewis for a few years and I know that he is smart, a VERY competent physician, and one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Dr. Edwards is the physician taking care of my eyes and I wouldn’t pick anyone else. He’s very bright, a good person, hilarious, and a great doctor. Currently he’s tracking my long-term eye health for a couple of reasons. Additionally, my 89-year-old Grandfather also sees Dr. Edwards and is very pleased with the care he receives at WWEC. My Grandfather has a number of conditions going on. In his “good eye” he has had Dr. Edwards care for the following conditions; 1) glaucoma 2) wet macular degeneration and 3) removal of a cataract. (His “bad eye” was injured over 30 years ago and he subsequently lost most of his sight in it.) Due to my grandfather’s eye health neglect (for YEARS) he now has roughly 5% of his optic nerve remaining (something he won’t ever get back). After his first visit with Dr. Edwards, I had a very direct conversation with Grandpa stressing the importance of taking his medication (special eye drops). Thankfully, Grandpa has complied with the treatment plan and now takes his drops regularly. Unsurprisingly, Grandpa still thinks he can also see “just fine” and still insists on; driving (even though he probably shouldn’t) and feeding his horses every day. This sounds like a bad experience and a bleak outlook, except that Dr. Edwards caught it and we all teamed up to stop the progression of Grandpa’s glaucoma. Had Grandpa gone untreated he probably would be completely blind today. So, our family owes a huge thanks to Dr. Edwards and the team at WWEC! :)
